YEAR 5 2015 iPAD PARENT NIGHT
Our 1:1 iPad student program has begun well this year. A recent Year 5 parent and teacher survey has confirmed the educational benefits of this program.

A parent night for next year's Year 5 parents will be held this year at 7:00pm on Wednesday 29th October. This is an opportunity to explain the program. I would encourage you to attend if you have a child in Year 5 in 2015.

WORKING BEE
Thank you to all parents and students who participated in last Friday's working bee. Your assistance is most appreciated in helping to tidy up our school environment. Special thanks to Trevor and Glen for coordinating the afternoon. Thank you to Tanya Saccasan for providing afternoon tea. The winner of the P&F family movie pass is the Scherer family.

ALL SAINTS DAY 2014
All Saints Day this year will be celebrated on the 31st of October with a mass at 9am. All parents are welcome to attend and celebrate with us.

JAPANESE NEWS
The Japanese-speaking competition was a great success on Monday afternoon and it was lovely to interact with students of Japanese from Albany Hills State School, Albany Creek State School and All Saints. For the first time in 4 years All Saints had the most students participating of all the schools; it was great to see the enthusiasm of our students to represent their school.

As a result, we had 3 students get a prize: year 5/6 division for first year language learners' Honourable Mention went to Sophie, year 6/7 division for second and third year language learners 2nd prize to Jemima and Honourable Mention to Kate. Well done to all our students who did a great job and many thanks to parents for rearranging other activities and working around the activities of siblings to allow our students to participate.

We had the support of wonderful judges from all 3 schools and thanks to YoshieKesby and Satoko West, our All Saints mums, for not only judging on the day but spending some time in the weeks beforehand helping students with their pronunciation and making the speech sound more natural with improved wording. We value your expertise very much!
