|All Saints are now on Twitter
This week we are celebrating Book Week in the library. We have a number of activities planned to celebrate the theme, "Connect to Reading". On Monday Mrs Searle connected drama to two of the picture books on the short list and ran drama activities with the year 2 and 6 students. Throughout the week there will be art activities for each year level based on the books they have been sharing. Preps will be dressing up on Tuesday as their favourite book character, and on Wednesday we welcome a visiting illustrator, David Legge. He will spend time with children in Years 3, 4 and 5 exploring the art of illustration and how it adds value to written text. By the end of the week we hope to have some of the children's work on display so feel free to drop in and see what all the excitement is about.
WORLD OF MATHS INCURSION
Last week the whole school participated in the "World of Maths" incursion. Each class went to the library for an hour and a half and engaged in a number of different maths games and challenges. The children really enjoyed this hands on incursion.
Just a reminder, that the school disco will be held on Friday 29th August. Thank you to those parents who have kindly volunteered their time.
ST VINCENT DE PAUL WINTER APPEAL
Supporting the Homeless Once again our All Saints School students have demonstrated their care and concern for those less fortunate in our community, through their fund raising efforts.
At last Wednesday's Senior Assembly they presented a cheque, toiletry products and blankets to the All Saints SVdP President Don Gore. The Conference Members would like to thank all of the students for participating in the; Free Dress Day which raised $750.00.
'Sleep Out' evening, where over 100 toiletry gift packs were bagged. Also a big thank you to Elliott, who presented, on behalf of his mother Vicki, many beautifully knitted blankets.
These fund raising activities would not have occurred without the encouragement and support of Mr Pashen, Ms McGrath and all of the staff at All Saints School, thank you.
A very "big thank you" to all of the Parents for your support.

This year All Saints School will be participating in the Day For Daniel Day. The purpose of the day is to highlight Student Protection and Child Safety messages. The day is normally held on Friday 31st October. That is the day we will be celebrating All Saints Feast Day. So this year, the Day for Daniel Day will be held on Tuesday 9th September, during Student Protection Week. More details in next week's newsletter.
