Commonwealth Government Student Assessment Program

The Commonwealth Government both directs and / or supports a number of national and international assessment programs across Australian schools. Such programs focus on assessing student achievement across a number of areas. An information brochure has been published for parents and community members entitled Assessing Student Achievement in Australia in 2009.

Part of this program includes the National Assessment Program - Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN). In 2009, these tests will engage our Year 3, 5 and 7 students from the 12th - 14th May. For interested parents, the 2008 NAPLAN tests, without the extra teacher support material, are available to the public on the Queensland Studies Authority website.

All Saints School encourages parents and carers to talk with class teachers if there is the desire to develop understanding of the format of the tests and the knowledge and standards expected of students.
