Premier's Reading Challenge

I am delighted to invite all All Saints students to join in the 2022 Premier’s Reading Challenge.

The reading period for the 2022 Premier's Reading Challenge commences on Monday 9th May

  • For Prep – Year 2 – this will be done in class, there is no need to complete a form.
  • For Year 3-6 it is not compulsory, but it would be great to see as many students participating as possible.

What you need to do?
It is as simple as recording how many books your child reads on the reader record form (available on the school portal) and returning to their teacher by 27 August. Every student who completes the challenge will receive a Certificate of Achievement signed by the Premier.

To complete the challenge:

  • Prep to Year 2 must read or experience at least 20 books, (form completed by class teachers - done in class)

  • Years 3 and 4 must read at least 20 books, and (form to be completed by students)

  • Years 5 and 6 must read at least 15 books (form to be completed by students)

Experiencing books can include shared reading, listening to stories, or reading picture books.

For more information, including suggested book titles for different age groups please head to: https://readingchallenge.education.qld.gov.au/about/booklists

You can play a big part in your children’s future by encouraging them to be part of this positive initiative. I will be promoting this in class with students and look forward to seeing as many of our students as possible take part in the 2022 Premier’s Reading Challenge.
