Construction Begins

underconstruction.jpgThe construction of our two new music rooms began on Friday 15th September. These two new rooms are replacing the music rooms that were at the front of the school, which are now used for our Outside School Hours Care Service. During the last two years our music and instrumental music lessons have been held in other parts of the school. One of the new music rooms will have a small stage built into the front of it to allow performances to be held in the Undercover Area. This will be a great feature.
The cost of the music rooms is around one million dollars. This will be paid for from a loan of $800 000 plus $100 000 from the P&F from the last two years of fundraising and $100 000 from the last two Albany Fairs. Last year, the loan repayments on the Learning Support Prep Building were completed. Those loan repayments are now being redirected to pay off this new building. Unlike home loans, school loan repayments have a ten-year period of payment. The new music rooms will be completed by the end of February.
