The Year 6 students from our school will be soon undertaking an educational tour of the national capital on their upcoming Canberra trip. The trip is being held during the first week of Term 4. Students will be given an opportunity to participate in a variety of educational programs with a focus on Australia’s history, culture, heritage and democracy. The Australian Government recognises the importance of all young Australian being able to visit the nation’s capital as part of their Civics and Citizenship education. To assist families in meeting the cost of the excursion, the Australian Government is contributing funding of $60 per student under the PACER program. The rebate is paid directly to the school upon completion of the excursion and has already been deducted from the cost of the Canberra trip. All students are looking forward to this trip and planning is well underway.
A Canberra trip meeting for parents is being held on Wedneday 14thAugust at 6pm in the Library. We look forward to another great Canberra trip for our Year 6 students.
