 Troubleshooting

At times your child's iPad may not be functioning optimally outside of school hours. Here are some troubleshooting options for some of the most common iPad issues:

My child's iPad is frozen or not responding -

If you find that your child's iPad is frozen or not responding, follow these steps:
1. Close all apps in the multitasking bar
To close all currently open apps, double tap the Home button. You should now see the preview screens of all apps open on the iPad. Swipe sideways to view all apps. To close an app, simply swipe upward.
2. Do a soft reset
To perform a soft reset hold the top (power) button for a few seconds. Your iPad will restart. To force quit an application, just hold the home button by itself in a similar fashion.
3. Perform a full reset
If none of the above options have fixed your iPad issue, it can be extremely useful to perform a full reset. Simply hold the top (power) and bottom front (home) button for a few seconds. Your iPad will fully shut down. Wait a short while before restarting the iPad again.

My child's iPad will not connect to the Wi-Fi -

If you find that your child's iPad will not connect in a Wi-Fi zone in which you have successfully connected to before, or if the Wi-Fi drops out and doesn't reconnect automatically, follow these steps:
1. Turn Wi-Fi off
Turn your Wi-Fi off for ten seconds and then on again. To do this, go to Settings > Wi-Fi, swipe the green button next to Wi-Fi off, leave for ten seconds and then turn back on.
Alternatively go to Settings and turn Airplane Mode on. Leave for ten seconds and then switch off again.
2. Do a soft reset
If your iPad is still not connected to the desired Wi-Fi zone, perform a soft reset. Hold the top (power) button for a few seconds. Your iPad will restart.
3. Check the Wi-Fi signal
If none of the above options have fixed your connectivity issue, check that the Wi-Fi is sending a signal. Consult your home modem to ensure that a signal is being sent (NOTE: This will vary depending on your modem).

An app is not working correctly -

In the case that an app is not working as it should, follow these steps:
1. Close the app in the multitasking bar
To close the problematic app, double tap the Home button. You should now see the preview screens of all apps open on the iPad. Swipe sideways to find the desired app. To close the app, simply swipe upward.
