The Trial

‚ÄčIn 2013, Mrs Sarah Campbell and Mrs Stefanie Mitchell conducted a 1:1 iPad trial in their Year 3 classrooms. Although the iPads did not go home at that stage, making it slightly different to the truly personalised 1:1 environment, the findings at the end of the trial were:
  • The students showed increased initiative and a greater willingness to take responsibility for their own learning.
  • The students were highly engaged and more motivated to learn during lessons where the iPad was being used.
  • Students began to choose how they preferred to learn and extend themselves in their own learning.
  • Classroom time was used more efficiently, with less "idle time" during lesson transitions.
  • The iPad allowed for different learning styles and levels to be catered to.
